Incessant Babbling

This section should be fairly self-explanatory, but for those needing a little extra help...

I love to write.

But it runs deeper than that. It's an inherent need in me; my chosen method of communication, my release, my life blood. It consumes me.

It's been that way for as long as I can remember. At an age that most children are just learning to read, I was already penning short stories and poetry. I still have journals that date as far back as the early eighties. I won my first writing contest in first grade, and even into my mid-twenties writing continues to be what I consider one of the defining points of who I am.

Most of my writing is very private; not even the boy has read the majority of what I've committed to paper or digital document. But every once in a while I feel the urge to share. Hence, the writing section you've stumbled upon.

The rant section will probably always be the fullest; I have a persistent need to give voice to things that strike me as completely asinine and absurd. More often than not the topics I tackle are controversial and my opinions strong; you're welcome to disagree, and if you have a logical and well-formed argument, I invite you to present it. Just keep in mind that I reserve the right to reprint/republish anything you say, and that I don't respond well to arguments such as "the bible says."

The poetry section is primarily composed of things written some time ago. I have at no point in time claimed to have any talent for poetry (just the opposite, actually), but it's a good writing exercise sometimes. Or exercise in futility. Whatever.

The majority (if not entirety) of the prose section is restricted access, as this is where I feel my real strength in writing lies and I'm obscenely paranoid about theft.
